For most of my life, I was a primary school teacher in Klovborg — a village in Jutland that most people drive through without slowing down. I had been drawing and painting since childhood, sold my first works at the age of thirteen, and won my first competition that same year. But I had never made art the centre of my life.

Then, at the age of fifty, after spending six months working on a single figurative painting that received almost no reaction when I posted it online, something in me snapped. I covered the entire canvas with white wall paint, carried it out into the garden, and started throwing paint across it. The drips landed wherever they wanted.

When I posted the result, everything changed.

Since that evening, I have exhibited at Art3f Paris, Brussels, Lyon and Monaco, at Superfine Art Fair Los Angeles, at Arte Kunstmesse Dortmund, and at the Geoje International Art Festival in South Korea, where I received the Curator’s Choice Award. My works are held in private collections throughout Europe. I have built an audience of more than 183,000 people on social media — without advertising, without shortcuts.

This book contains everything I have learned along the way.
